Mason Weston / Director of Photography

Mason Weston is a cinematographer and colorist from a small town in southern Missouri. After completing a year of Missouri State University’s Digital Film Production program, he relocated to Denver where he is currently enrolled in University of Colorado’s Film and Television Program. On a short film titled “Point of Contact”, he worked on larger scale production and post production as an editor, grip, production assistant, and animator working on a team of about 100 people. He also works with smaller teams and budgets, including working with Emmy nominated director and producer Constance Mortell, Artisan Obscura, Colorado Youth for a Change, Triple Zip, Kooshi Gourmet, ZümXR, and Denver Sister Cities International among others. Mason’s first commercial that he produced and directed aired on PBS in 2017 for Employers Council where he currently works as the in-house marketing assistant and videographer. Mason draws from his experience as a model and actor to help inform his creative decisions on films, learning about how large photoshoots, commercials, and events are run behind the scenes including walking at Massif Fashion Week, Winter on the Rocks at Redrocks Ampitheater, and working under numerous professional photographers and directors. As a cinematographer, Mason finds that what makes shoot days so interesting is coming up with creative solutions to difficult problems on the fly.
